Just released: Up to $3,000 in scholarship opportunities to study abroad in China this summer with Intrax!

As part of Intrax Study Abroad's commitment to inspire students to become global citizens, we have just released a special scholarship fund specifically for Intrax's summer 2008 China program. Outstanding students can receive up to $3000!

The application deadline is April 18th but Intrax Study Abroad encourages students to apply as soon as possible. Scholarships will get swept up quickly to motivated students who apply first and are committed to academic innovation, global citizenship and cultural exploration.

The 32nd annual Summer Institute for Intercultural Communication


Intrax is proud to support additional innovation in the field of Intercultural Competence:

The 32nd annual Summer Institute for Intercultural Communication (SIIC) will offer over 40 workshops in intercultural and multicultural education, training, business, and consulting. One of the premier gatherings of professionals in the field of intercultural communication, SIIC presents a unique opportunity to explore the field and network with others in a stimulating and supportive environment. The Institute takes place July 9-25 on the forested campus of Reed College in Portland, Oregon. Workshops are offered in 3-day and 5-day formats, and there are free evening programs seven days a week.

The Summer Institute is sponsored by the Intercultural Communication Institute (ICI), a nonprofit charity with the mission of fostering an awareness and appreciation of cultural difference. ICI offers a Master of Arts in Intercultural Relations (in collaboration with the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California), manages the Intercultural Development Inventory, maintains an extensive reference library, and provides referrals and information on intercultural topics.

Please contact us to learn about internships available at the Summer Institute. Academic credit can be arranged through Portland State University, which also collaborates with ICI to offer a certificate program in interculturalism.
